INEC declares APC’s Tinubu as winner of Presidential Election amid controversies

Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has been declared winner of the presidential election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the early hours of March 1, 2023.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) flagbearer emerged winner with a total of 8,794,726 votes to defeat his closest rivals.

Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) came second with 6,984,520 votes and Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP) finished third with 6,101,533.

Rabiu Kwankwanso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) finished in fourth position with 1,496.687.
The former Lagos state governor won 25% in 29 states to emerge winner while Atiku Abubakar of the PDP had 25% of votes in 21 states but his closest rival, Peter Obi of the Labour Party, had 25% of votes in 16 states.
