Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has been declared the winner of the governorship election in Adamawa state by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The announcement finally came after the state held its supplementary election held on April 15, 2023, after the March 18 governorship polls was inconclusive.

The PDP flagbearer secured Fintiri garnered 9,337 votes to defeat Senator Aishatu ‘Binani’ Dahiru, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who polled 6,513 votes
In total, the incumbent governor had 430,861 votes to defeat Binani of the APC, who got 398,788 votes.
After a series of political dramas in Adamawa state, INEC finally announced Governor Fintiri as the winner of the election and is expected to go for a second term.
