Sam Larry has been arrested by the Lagos state police in connection with the mysterious death of a singer named Mohbad on the 12th of September.
Many Nigerians have been calling for the police to uncover the mysterious circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s death. Naira Marley, who is currently abroad, has denied any involvement in the singer’s death.
The Lagos state police command said on Thursday evening that Sam Larry was in custody and is assisting the police in the investigation.
Nigerian rapper, singer and songwriter, formerly known as “MohBad” was born and raised in Lagos, Nigeria. He is best known for his hits “Ponmo,” “Peace,” “Beast and Peace,” “Sorry” and “Feel Good” with Rexxie.
In 2022, MohBad left Marlian Records after two years of being signed to the label. In June 2023, MohBad filed a police report claiming that a music promoter known as “Sam Larry” and a close associate of Marley, had attacked him and destroyed some of his belongings. On October 5, 2022, MohBad filed another police report accusing his manager of assault and his former boss of ordering people to beat him after he announced he was looking to hire a different manager to manage his music and business matters.
