About Six persons were reportedly killed by bandits on Tuesday night in the Takanai area of the Atyap community in Kaduna State’s Zango Kataf Local Government Area. A mother feared dead and two of her kids were kidnapped in an attack that took place in Kaura LGA just five days earlier.
Samson Markus, the community’s acting secretary to the district head, confirmed the tragic occurrence to Newsmen on Wednesday. He said the terrorists entered the hamlet at 7:pm and started shooting, killing four persons in one property and two in another family.
He said that the attack also claimed the lives of two youths. Markus claimed, “We were going about our regular business when we heard gunfire. At first, we believed it was the military until we realized it was the Fulanis who came in from Zango Urban.
“They were successful in killing six people, including two children, before the troops came. “They fled the community and went to their hills because the military’s approach scared them.
“It’s regrettable that awful incidents of this nature keep happening in our villages just when we thought everything were back to normal. Markus continued, “We pleaded with the military and the administration to step up their efforts and declare war against these terrorists who invaded towns and killed innocent people.
