Former Kano state governor, Engr Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has commended federal lawmakers under the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) for coming to the aid of students.
Kwankwaso, the presidential candidate of the NNPP in the 2023 general elections, praised the lawmakers in a social media post.
He noted that education is at the core of ensuring young Nigerians have a prosperous future.
The former minister of defence also stated that the gesture by the lawmakers aligns with his objectives as a consistent investor in the education of young Nigerians.
His words:
”It is heartwarming to see the various initiatives by our NNPP lawmakers in the National Assembly in intervening to settle tuition fees for students in various higher education institutions.
”This very much aligns with the Kwankwasiyya tenet of putting education at the core of our investment for a prosperous future.
”I also look forward to the send-forth of the first set of students that will depart Nigeria to further their education in universities abroad, under the sponsorship of the Kano state government.
”As I emphasise, a genuine and encompassing investment in education will continue to yield great results for our people.”
Kwankwaso was recently quoted as saying his victories in elections conducted in Kano state were attributable to his investment in education and the youth.
According to him, those he supported their education years ago were now those routing for him anytime he aspired for political position in the state and the country.
