Abdul-Azeez Adediran, the Lagos State PDP 2023 governorship candidate, has congratulated Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on his victory at the Supreme Court.
The apex court dismissed the appeals of Adediran and Labour Party’s Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour challenging Sanwo-Olu’s victory in the governorship election.
In a statement addressed to Lagos residents, Adediran expressed his disappointment with the Supreme Court ruling but called for unity and urged his supporters to cease fire.
He acknowledged the frustration, intimidation, and betrayals experienced during the election but emphasized the need to let the declared winner govern based on his vision for the development of Lagos State.
Adediran thanked his supporters, party faithful, and all lovers of Lagos PDP for their dedication and hard work during and after the elections.
Despite the outcome, he pledged to continue contributing to the development of Lagos State and working towards economic emancipation.
His words: “We need to let the declared winner govern based on his vision for the development of our state.
“Let the electorate be the judge of their performance.
“This will not, in any way, deter me from continuing to contribute my quota to the development of our dear state and toward achieving the desired economic emancipation and a breath of fresh air in governance for our people.
“I appreciate you all for your faith and trust in me. I thank our party faithful and all lovers of Lagos PDP for their dedication and hard work during and after the elections.
“I urge you not to relent in your support for our quest for a greater Lagos.”
