Young Nigerian-American coach Michael Nsien has explained why he is the right man to replace Portuguese tactician Jose Peseiro as the coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria.
Nsien, a former defender, who represented Nigeria at the U-23 level during his active days threw his hat in the ring to become the next coach of the senior national team of Nigeria in an interview with TVC.
He said that he has passion for the Super Eagles and he is also aware of the responsibilities that come with that position as head coach of the team which finished second at the last AFCON 2023.
Nsien who is the current coach of the US U-19 team also argued that he has experience working in an environment that spares no expense in technology, has top scouting infrastructure, and coaching collaboration from top to bottom.
“I am the best of both worlds,” Nsien told TVC.
“As a Nigerian-American, I have a passion for the Super Eagles; I also know the responsibilities that come with that position as head coach.
“I have experience working in an environment that spares no expense in technology, has top scouting infrastructure, and coaching collaboration from top to bottom.
“I know where we are at in Nigerian football, and I know the gap that exists. I can bridge the gap and help us reach the level that we should be at in world football. It’s time to change course and move forward. I want to put smiles on the faces of our people.”
