MTV Base, a popular music and entertainment channel, has decided to remove all content related to Marlian Music from its platform.
The decision comes amid developments and controversies surrounding the Nigerian record label.
Marlian Music, known for its association with famous Nigerian artist Naira Marley and its roster of emerging talents, has been a prominent player in the Nigerian music industry.
However, recent events and controversies surrounding the record label bosses have prompted MTV Base to disassociate itself from the label.
Naira Marley and Marlian Music show promoter, Sam Larry, have been accused of bullying late Nigerian rapper, Mohbad to death.
Mohbad (Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba), was formerly signed to Naira Marley’s Marlian Records and left the label in 2022.
He was said to have been tortured by the record label bosses until he died on Tuesday, September 12.
Protests across major cities in Nigeria have been recorded in the last few days over the death of Mohbad.
Fans of the late rapper have been calling on the authorities to apprehend and prosecute the executives of Marlian Music.
Marlian Music has been known for its unique and sometimes controversial approach to music and culture, which has garnered both emotional support and criticism.
