Jet Systems Automobile Industries Limited has introduced its first batch of commercial Electric Vehicles.
The company, with a factory in Epe, Lagos, was founded in 2018 and has received rave reviews for its vehicles.
They recently presented their made-in-Nigeria 14-seater Electric Buses to the National Automotive Design And Development Council in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
Jet Systems is already the first fully locally-made electric vehicle to run on the Nigerian road.
Jet Systems made the new electric vehicle to have zero emissions and is eco-friendly.
One of Nigeria’s biggest transport companies, GIGM Mobility, already uses the vehicles for its logistics arm.
The Jet Mover Company management says its organisation was founded to provide affordable and eco-friendly transportation options for people in Africa, and we have been committed to the mission since inception.
According to them, their main aim was to go into producing electric vehicles from the start.
After about three years of research, testing and iterative development, the company finally achieved its objective with JET EV.
In March 2020, the company raised $9 million from Canadian-based Africa Development Capital, Greatman Legend and some Asian investors to build Africa’s first all-electric vehicle.
Meanwhile, the company has proposed to expand into an over 2-acre assembly plant in Lagos, where the new assembly plant will serve the manufacturing capacity of 5000 vehicles annually.
