Nigeria’s Vice President, Kashim Shettima, is set to attend the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) final between the Super Eagles of Nigeria and the Elephants of Cote d’Ivoire.
Shettima arrived in Cote d’Ivoire before the semi-final match against South Africa and witnessed the game at the Stade de la Paix in Bouake.
After the Super Eagles secured victory in the semi-final, Shettima joined the players and officials in the dressing room to celebrate their success.
He returned to the country after the semi-final clash with the Bafana Bafana.
The Vice President is now expected to lead a powerful presidential delegation for the final, which will take place at the Alassanne Quattara Stadium in Ebimpe, Abidjan.
Shettima is anticipated to be accompanied by several high-ranking government officials, including state governors and ministers.
The Super Eagles are set to face the Elephants in a highly anticipated showdown.
While the Elephants are gunning for the third continental title, the Super Eagles seek their fourth crown.
