Peter Obi has poked fun at president-elect Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu after the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate returned from his several weeks break overseas.
The presidential candidate of the Labour Party at the recently held general elections in Nigeria said that no serious leader would travel out of the country on vacation with the situation Nigeria is currently in.
Tinubu was out of the country for over a month shortly after he was declared the winner of the poll by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The former Anambra state governor made the statement during his visit to a mosque in Awka, the state capital to celebrate Eid-el-Fitr.
Obi added that his visit to the Muslim community is not politically motivated and has nothing to do with politics.
His statement reads in part: “People who want to rest can go and rest. For me, I’m not resting. No serious leader will go and rest in Nigeria with the way things are today.”
Meanwhile, the All Progressives presidential candidate Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu left Nigeria on March 21, 2023, for France to have a rest following a rigorous campaign and the general election.
However, the former Lagos state governor returned to the country on Monday, April 24, 2023, a few weeks before his inauguration as Nigeria’s president on May 29.
