In the wake of the death of Governor Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu, his Special Adviser on Union Matters and Special Duties, Dare Aragbaiye, has tendered his resignation.
The resignation letter, dated today, Wednesday, December 27, 2023, cited the untimely demise of Governor Akeredolu as the primary reason for stepping down from the position.
Aragbaiye expressed unwavering loyalty to the late governor, lauding him as a fearless and honest leader.
Aragbaiye, who had previously served as the Head of Service, extended gratitude to Governor Akeredolu for the opportunity to serve in his administration.
He wrote in a letter addressed to the Secretary of the State Government:
”I write to refer to the subject above and to resign my appointment as the special adviser to the governor on union matters and special duties, with effect from today, Wednesday, December 27, 2023.
”My decision to resign is based on the unfortunate death of my principal, a fearless and honest leader, Governor Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu, SAN, CON, to whom I am loyal to even in death.
”I sincerely thank his excellency for the opportunity granted me to serve in his administration as a member of the State Executive Council, first as Head of Service and now, special adviser.
”Please accept the assurances of my esteemed regards.”
