The Nigerian Police Force has apprehended three people in connection with a viral video in which a woman is seen being assaulted, stripped, and having her hair forced shaved after reportedly having a quarrel with one of the suspects’ new girlfriends.
Police Operatives serving in Nsukka Area Command of the Enugu State Command disclosed this in a statement issued by Daniel Ndukwe, the state command Police Public Relations Officer, Tuesday.
The trio involved as identified by the Police are, Obed Chekwube Ugwuanyi a.k.a. MC Sharp (male), aged 32, Chinenye Agbo a.k.a. Star Ella Ada (female), aged 26, and Anastasia Onu (female), aged 26.
The victim, Chinenye, who was allegedly dating one of the attackers, was falsely accused of provoking a quarrel with her ex-lover’s new girlfriend and was ordered to apologise to her on the video.
But the police said preliminary investigation has revealed that the video which has since gone viral was a prank.
Meanwhile police said the state commissioner Ahmed Ammani, has ordered the State CID Enugu to thoroughly investigate and prosecute those found culpable, to serve as a deterrent to anyone who may want to perpetrate such an act under the guise of prank.
