The Nigerian First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, has praised the Super Falcons for their excellent success in the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, which Australia and New Zealand are co-hosting.
Mrs Tinubu, through her spokesperson Busola Kokiyi, urged the players to brace up and not be intimidated in their next match against England on Monday.
She also expressed her best wishes to the team, saying she would be cheering for them to win the trophy.
The team was also praised by the first lady for being more disciplined and resilient during the competition.
The Super Falcons finished as runners-up in Group B coming after Australia.

“The First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria Senator Oluremi Tinubu CON has congratulated the Super Falcons of Nigeria for qualifying for the knockout stage at the ongoing FIFA Women’s World Cup being co-hosted by Australia and New Zealand.
“The team which played a goalless draw with the Ireland team this afternoon was cheered on throughout the match by the First Lady who was of the opinion that the Nigerian side was more disciplined and resilient.
“Senator Oluremi Tinubu pointed out that though the team would be meeting with England on Monday 7th, they should not be daunted as they have the best wishes of not only herself and the President, but all Nigerians.
“She assured of her best wishes for the team, noting that she is with them in thoughts and prayers, routing for them to bring home the trophy as they all are playing as a team with the ‘can-do ‘spirit.
