A Nigerian Air Force (NAF) personnel has taken to Twitter to celebrate his retirement from the military.
The personnel, Wale Akanji, said he was happy that he was allowed to serve the nation.
He noted that he was fulfilled and now moving on to other things after more than a decade as military personnel.
He wrote on the micro-blogging site:
”After 11 years of Active Service to my fatherland Nigeria. Today I drew my last paycheck as I say goodbye to the NAF.
”Thank you for the opportunity to serve For God and For Country. Thank you, Nigeria Air Force. Thank you, Nigeria. Wish me Happy life in retirement.”
When one of his followers suggested he was leaving the NAF due to no more motivation, the personnel refuted it and wrote:
”I was motivated, though. The NAF gave me a platform to shine, showed me I was the best at what I do, and I did shine very well.”
News.ng gathered that the personnel is leaving the NAF because he is travelling abroad for a fully funded PhD programme.
Akanji had bagged a First Class from the Air Force Institute Of Technology, Kaduna.
His tweets have always been educative, drawing massive followership to his Twitter handle.
The post generated massive interest from Nigerians, who have been congratulating and thanking the personnel for his service to the nation.
