Vice President Senator Kashim Shettima has underscored the Tinubu administration’s commitment to investing in human capital.
He emphasized that Nigeria’s most valuable asset is its people during the Barewa Old Boys Association (BOBA) Annual Lecture and Awards ceremony in Abuja on Monday.
Representing the Vice President at the event, Dr. Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, the Special Adviser to the President on Political Matters, commended the organizers for the lecture’s theme, which delved into the interface between citizens and the State.
In his speech delivered by Baba-Ahmed, the Vice President it was highlighted that the quality of its human resources would dictate Nigeria’s trajectory.
He emphasized the critical role of investing in human capital development through education, health services, technological opportunities, and leveraging natural resources.
Acknowledging prevailing challenges and the nation’s potential for greatness, VP Shettima stressed the pivotal moment for Nigeria to sustain a growing population or build a robust economy that enhances the citizens’ quality of life through substantial investments in human development.
The Vice President reiterated the administration’s commitment to good governance and national security, identifying these as fundamental to inclusive development and democratic progress.
He called for Nigerians’ support in striving for a less challenging economic environment while affirming that Nigeria’s primary asset remains its people.
Expressing optimism for Nigeria’s future under President Tinubu’s leadership, Shettima encouraged resilience and resourcefulness among citizens, emphasizing the need to leverage these qualities in building a prosperous and resilient nation.
