Wike gives AIT, Raypower 48 hrs to vacate building in Port Harcourt marked for demolition

Governor Nyesom Wike has asked Daar Communications, owners of AIT/Raypower television and radio station, to vacate the building they occupy in Port Harcourt in the next 48 hours. 

PM News reported that the building housing has been marked for demolition in the next two days.  

Daar Communications were given the quit notice signed by the permanent secretary of the Rivers state ministry of works, Ebere Dennis Emenike, dated Tuesday, March 21, 2023.

In the statement, the building located in the GRA Phase 5 area of Port Harcourt has been marked for demolition.

The content of the notice reads in part: “Consequently, you are by this notice requested to remove Structures within 48 hours to allow for speedy progress of work”. 

However, the Rivers state chapter of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has pleaded with the state government not to demolish the structure housing the AIT/Raypower.
