Failed title race: 4 players Mikel Arteta must sell for Arsenal to improve next season

Arsenal has bottled their chance to win the 2022/2023 Premier League with a dismal outing against Brighton on Sunday, May 14, at the Emirates, which ended 3-0 in favour of the visitors.

Although Arsenal still has a chance to win the league mathematically, it is unlikely given the fine form of league leaders, Machester City.

Some players in the Gunners set-up have failed to meet expectations this season and should be shown the way out.

They include:

1). Rob Holding: The 27-year-old central defender came into the squad when William Saliba was injured. Holding’s entrance to the team witnessed a drop in form, especially the backline, which couldn’t withstand the pressure of the league in the dying stages.

2) Emile Smith-Rowe: Although he has been out injured for most of the season, Emile has shown that he is not Arsenal standard. The British footballer came through the ranks from the youth setup at the London club, but apart from injuries, he has failed to deliver when called upon.

3). Thomas Partey: For a really talented player, Partey doesn’t do enough to help his teammates at Arsenal. The Ghanaian seems distracted, and his form has dipped drastically in the last few weeks. He might be missing the Spanish league, and now is the time for Arsenal to cash in on him.

4). Fabio Viera: He is simply not good enough to be an Arsenal player. He brings nothing to the table, offers nothing going forward, and is not good at tracking back, either. He might be good on the ball, but he is not suited to thrive in a physically demanding league.
