Babatunde Raji Fashola has debunked reports suggesting he would be the chief of staff to president-elect Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, saying it is “extremely ridiculous”.
The minister of works and housing once served as Tinubu’s chief of staff for 4 and half years while he was the governor of Lagos state.
However, the Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) disclosed that his chances of attaining that office at the federal level are very slim.

Speaking on a program on Channels Television programme on Sunday night, April 16, 2023, the former governor of Lagos said:
“Unlikely, I don’t think so. I think it is a good point you raised, I think it is extremely ridiculous, and I say it without apology.”
Fashola advised Nigerians to wait for the president-elect’s swearing-in and should stop picking offices for the country on social media, noting that it was not good for democracy.
