Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa state has condemned the ‘illegal’ declaration of the governorship candidate Aisha ‘Binani’ Dahiru, as the winner of the 2023 governorship election in the state.
Binani was announced the winner of the election by the Independent National Election Commission’s Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Hudu Yunusa-Ari while election was still going on.

And the incumbent governor who is a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has described INEC’s official Yunusa-Ari’s action as illegal and provocative.
Fintri then called on President Muhammadu Buhari to do the needful by intervening in the matter appropriately.
He said: “We call on him (President Buhari) to make a statement, we call on him to take a decision. I believe he will not be a party to this.”
