The Labour Party (LP) candidate Osita Eze emerged winner at the Oji River State Constituency supplementary election, held on Saturday, April 15, 2023.
The Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Eze the winner after polling 108 votes (at the supplementary election) and already with over 300 votes outstanding (during the March 18 election).
He defeated the incumbent Jeff Mba who represented the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who had 118 votes (at the supplementary election).

Elsewhere, Labour Party’s (LP) Hon. Victor Afam Ogene recorded a major win for the Ogbaru federal constituency in Anambra.
He defeated the incumbent Hon Chukwuka Onyema of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) while Hon. Arinze Awogu of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) came third.
Ogene secured 10,851 votes as he was closely followed by Hon. Chukwuka Onyema who had 10,619 votes. Hon. Arinze Awogu of APGA bagged third with 10,155 votes.
