The Executive Governor of Katsina State, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has approved the appointment of Muhammad Nuhu Nagaske as his Special Assistant (Student Matters).
The governor said the appointment, which is with effect from 28th July 2023, is based on the conviction that Nagaske will serve faithfully, diligently, and in the best interest of the service.
Nagaske is a student, entrepreneur, politician, and advocate for good governance and youth inclusion.
His appointment has excited youths in the northwest state due to his antecedents as one who advocates for young people.
The appointment comes nearly a month after Governor Radda appointed Yusuf Rabiu Jirdede, a 34-year-old man, as one of the commissioners in the state.
At the time, his nomination sparked jubilation among young people in Katsina who have been clamouring for inclusion by the political leaders.
Analysts say Governor Radda’s deliberate efforts in engaging youths in the state is a welcome development.
In a related development, the Katsina government has concluded arrangements to engage about 2,400 youths to provide security in some local government areas of the state.
The government said it has already started planning how to recruit the youths in eight local governments.
The local governments are Kankara, Faskari, Sabuwa, Dandume, Batsari, Safana, Danmusa and Jibia.
A government statement noted that 300 youths will be recruited from eight local governments.
