Kogi guber election: PDP campaign council refutes withdrawal rumours of its candidate, Dino Melaye

In a swift response to circulating bulk SMS, the Dino/Deen Gubernatorial Campaign Council has vehemently denied claims that Senator Dino Melaye has withdrawn from the gubernatorial race in Kogi state.

The SMS alleged a loss of confidence in the electoral process as the reason for the purported withdrawal.

The campaign council, in a statement by its spokesman, Barr. Omoyemi Gold Olumudi labelled the rumours as unfounded propaganda and urged the people of Kogi to dismiss them as yet another round of fake news, orchestrated by entities aware of their rejection in the state.

Contrary to the circulating messages, the campaign council asserted that Senator Melaye remains unwavering in his confidence of victory.

Part of the statement read:

”The council invites the good people of Kogi state to disregard such watery propaganda and treat as another fake news from those who know that they have already been rejected in Kogi state.

”The campaign council states that Senator Dino Melaye is confident of victory despite the propaganda and mechanisms by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and Yahaya Bello to undermine the electoral process.

”The council urges Kogi state electorates stay  vigilant and resist any form of intimidation and electoral heist by the failed APC.”

The council also expressed confidence in the resilience of the Kogi people to uphold the principles of a free and fair democratic process.
