Nigerians were shocked on Monday, November 14, when Jasmine Okafor, the adopted daughter of Nollywood actor John Okafor (Mr Ibu), announced her separation from her husband.
Jasmine disclosed via her Instagram handle that she was leaving her nine-month marriage over what she described as deception.
In a lengthy post, she accused her husband of hiding his past from her. The hearth-broken lady claimed that she found that her husband is a divorcee with three grown daughters.
She wrote: “
“This was the best 9 months of my life! I have no regrets whatsoever! I just won’t settle for a lie, regardless! I forgive easily, I remember asking you about this severally before we started!
“Finding out today from your mum, really broke me! A foundation built upon a tiny lie won’t stand! I love how you loved me! But hate how you never mentioned your divorce nor kids to me! Moving on I don’t think I want anybody else! Just gonna love you from a distance!”
Jasmine stated that her husband truly loved her but that she could not forgive him for lying to her. She said she has already filed for divorce, noting that she won’t settle for less.
