Nigerians drag Wizkid boycotting 2023 presidential election

Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Wizkid has come under heavy criticism from some Nigerian fans for boycotting the 2023 presidential election.

The criticisms were triggered by a video circulating on the internet which showed the musician attending Ghanaian producer Killbeat’s late mother’s funeral in Tema, Ghana.

Some Nigerians became enraged after they spotted the clip and accused the singer of failing to support the election of capable leaders in Nigeria.

“I guess WIZKID is the problem of Nigeria 🇳🇬 cause I no understand why everybody here Talking about WIZKID only and there is a lots of Top artist out dere that didn’t even know there is Voting Today, make Una go find work abeg make Una leave BIG WIZ🙏🙏🙏.”

Meanwhile, Nigerian singer Iyanya has claimed that wizkid made it possible for Tems to win Grammy Award.

He made the claim following a question making the rounds on social media, asking if Wizkid is part of Tems’ success story.

The incident occurred after a blog via its official Twitter handle asked, “Is it safe to say Wizkid is part of Tems’ success story?”
