Super Eagles defender Bright Osayi-Samuel is set to face a disciplinary committee in Turkey over his fight with irate Trabzonspor fans after a football game last month.
The Turkish Football Federation has summoned Osayi-Samuel and a few of his teammates in the wake of the altercation with Trabzonspor supporters, who stormed the field to attack Fenerbahce players and officials after their team lost 3-2.
The defender was named on Monday by the Turkish Football Federation as one of the three players scheduled to appear at a TFF disciplinary hearing following the pitch invasion that occurred on March 17 during a league match between Trabzonspor and Fenerbahce.
“Due to his (Osayi-Samuel) fight in the Super League match, he was imprudently referred in accordance with Article 45 of the Football Disciplinary Instruction. Players found guilty will be punished and banned for three to five matches,” the statement read in part.
Recall that in an exclusive interview with Bein Sports, Osayi-Samuel defended his actions at the end of the Turkish Super Lig cash between Trabzonspor and his club, Fenerbahce.

The action taken by the defender has generated mixed feelings, as he now risks a 10-match ban by the Turkish Football Federation following his involvement in the clash.
Osayi-Samuel, however, insisted that he did what he had to do in self-defence.
“Some people say what I did was not self-defence. If someone comes at you with a knife in his hand, how can this not be self-defence? They came to the field from the stands,” he was quoted by Bein Sports.
“I only had to defend my team and my friends there. Many of my teammates were coming into the locker room with cuts and bruises.
”I cannot understand how such events are possible on a football field.” The player noted.
