Super Eagles and Napoli FC striker Victor Osimhen has revealed that Didier Drogba’s physical approach in football games inspired him to be the player he is today.
Osimhen, who disclosed in a chat with Il Matino, said that when he was a child, he was introduced to Drogba’s style of play by passionate fans of the game.
The lethal striker stated that after he was introduced to Drogba’s approach to the round leather game, he started to take an interest in him and also watched many clips of the Ivorian striker.
“The whole world knows that I am inspired by Didier Drogba,” he said, according to Il Matino.
“When I was a child, they introduced me to his [Drogba] style of football, the passionate fans, and then the whole community pushed me to follow him.

“And so, I started to take an interest in him, to watch many clips, and learn from his movements and integrate them into my way of playing,” Osimhen said.
Meanwhile, French Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain have decided to pay the €120 million release clause inserted in the Nigerian’s current contract with Napoli.
The Nigerian may be heading to France, according to a report by Il Mattino, as the Italian media outlet stated that the French powerhouses were prepared to fulfil the Nigerian’s release clause.
“Victor Osimhen is close to signing for PSG this summer! The French club has decided to pay his release clause of €120 million,” the publication wrote in a recent report.
