The outgoing tactician of the senior national team of Nigeria has taken to social media to name two Nigerians who were key to his success as the coach of the Super Eagles.
Recall two days ago that Peseiro announced his decision to quit his role as coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria after guiding the team to the African Cup of Nations final.
Peseiro, who revealed his decision to step down as the coach of the Super Eagles in a statement issued via his official X handle (formerly Twitter), said that he was fulfilled coaching Nigeria.
The coach, who has stepped down alongside his backroom staff following the expiration of his contract, conceded that they will miss the team “but we will always be there for you.”
Peseiro (who was hired to take charge of the senior national team in mid-2022) has now named two Nigerians who were key to his success as the coach of the Super Eagles.
In a post shared on his X handle (formerly Twitter), the Portuguese specifically appreciated his coaching crew, including Finidi and Baruwa, for their input in the Super Eagles’ success.
Writing on Twitter, the 63-year-old said: “Many, many hours of work, but in the end, a lot of satisfaction for what we have achieved.
“Many thanks to my technical staff: Acácio Santos, George Finidi, Maykel Moreira, Vitor Peseiro, Nuno Carrapato, and Olatunji Baruwa.”
