President Tinubu has appointed Mr Ola Olukoyede as Chairman of the Economic & Financial Crimes Commission, (EFCC).
The statements were made today by Tinubu’s Media and Publicity Mr Ajuri Ngelale. Tinubu’s appointment came following the suspension of the Commission’s Executive Chairman Mr Abdulrasheed Babachir Bawa.
Tinubu had also approved the reappointment of the Anti-Graft Agency’s Secretary, Mr Muhammad Hassan Hamajoda, to a four-year renewable term of office.
Hamajoda’s term of office was initially set at five years but was extended to six years after the Senate confirmed the appointment.
“President Tinubu is authorised as the President of Nigeria to appoint the Chairman and Members of the Commission other than ex officio members,” Ngelale read from the statement.
Tinubu has asked the following persons to work as the next Chairpersons of the Economic & Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC):
Ola Oloyede: A lawyer with over 22 years of experience in the legal field, Oloyede is well-versed in regulatory compliance, fraud management, and corporate intelligence.
Prior to this appointment, he served as the Chief of Staff of the Executive Chairman from 2016-2018 and the Secretary of the Commission from 2018-2023.
Mohammed Hassan Hamajoda: A public administrator with a wealth of experience in public finance management, Hamajoda holds a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and a Master’s degree in Business Administration.
