Prominent economist and commentator Steve Hanke has taken to social media to express concerns regarding the educational records of Nigerian President Bola Tinubu, specifically his Chicago State University (CSU) records.
In a post on social media, Hanke highlighted discrepancies that have raised questions about the accuracy of President Tinubu’s academic history.
According to Hanke, there are inconsistencies between the diploma that President Tinubu submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and CSU’s official records.
He said the inconsistencies suggest that there may be discrepancies in the information provided by President Tinubu.
Hanke also pointed out that President Tinubu’s CSU application contains an incorrect date of birth and gender.
He added that such inaccuracies in official records are a matter of concern and have prompted further scrutiny.
The discrepancies in President Tinubu’s educational records have raised questions about his eligibility to run for office in the 2023 general elections and the accuracy of information provided to authorities.
As the controversy surrounding President Tinubu’s academic records continues to unfold, further investigations and clarifications are expected to be sought to ensure that the information provided to electoral authorities is accurate and credible.
Already, the CSU has stated that the certificate Tinubu submitted to INEC did not emanate from the institution.
Based on the position of the CSU, Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party presidential candidate in the 2023 polls, is asking the Supreme Court to disqualify Tinubu for forgery.
