Former Super Eagles striker and coach Samson Siasia has lamented about how the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) treats local coaches as compared to their foreign counterparts.
The former Nantes FC player, who opened up during a podcast with ex-international Emmanuel Babayaro and journalist Matthew Edafe on Saturday, said that the NFF does not give local coaches a fair opportunity when handling the Super Eagles.
According to him, the NFF doesn’t give local coaches as much as four years at the helm and if a local coach loses a match, he gets fired. He further added that it is not the case with white people, who are given more time and more pay.
“They didn’t give me Super Eagles from the beginning and gave me four years.

“They didn’t give Nigerians four years, you lose one match, they fire you. That’s the truth. The white people will come, you give them more time, you pay them more money.”
In support of Babayaro’s claim that an NFF coaching course and higher salary were once granted to a white coach following a game loss, Siasia continued, “And we (local coaches), they won’t send us anywhere, and they want us to be better.”
“They will pay the white man $50,000 monthly, and pay local hires N1 million. From the N1m, the coaching staff will also take inside, and you also have to feed your family.”
