Okezie Kalu, the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, has congratulated Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, on her 63rd birthday, which falls on Thursday.
Mr Kalu hailed the President’s wife as a source of inspiration and pillar of support to many, particularly women and youths, in a congratulatory statement written by his Special Assistant on Press Affairs, Udora Orizu.
According to the statement shared with journalists, the Deputy Speaker recalled the First Lady’s enthusiasm for youth and women empowerment, which she has demonstrated via her pet projects during her time as Lagos State’s first lady, to a Senator, and now as First Lady
Mrs Tinubu served as a Senator representing Lagos Central between 6 June 2011 – 11 June 2023
Meanwhile, the Deputy Speaker, in his message, recalled the First Lady’s time in parliament, saying her legislative contributions to national prosperity are evidence of visionary leadership.
He praised Mrs Tinubu for her humanitarianism and compassion, adding she had played a vital role in Nigeria’s growth and development.
He stated that the parliament is proud of her accomplishments in the Senate and urged her to continue creating standards for women in leadership and administration.
In his remarks, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State congratulated Mrs Tinubu for being a devoted and caring leader.
He said her good influence has touched many lives throughout the course of her remarkable public service career.
Governor Sanwo-Olu also characterised the former first lady of Lagos state and current first lady of Nigeria as an advocate for social justice, a philanthropist, and a fighter for people who frequently go unnoticed in a statement issued on Wednesday by his chief press secretary, Gboyega Akosile.
He also voiced his opinion that Senator Tinubu, who has served three terms as a senator, deserves to be honoured for her remarkable contributions to Lagos State and the country in a variety of positions, both in the public and private sectors.
