The Lagos State House of Assembly speaker, Mr Mudashiru Obasa, has called on Nigerians to trust President Bola Tinubu to address the country’s current economic challenges.
Obasa made the call during the Inter-Faith Prayers and Thanksgiving Service organized by the Mandate Movement, a group within the Lagos chapter of the APC, to commemorate President Tinubu’s 72nd birth anniversary.
During the event, which was themed “The Resilient Democrat and Reformer: President Bola Tinubu,” Obasa assured Nigerians that President Tinubu was working diligently with his team to proffer lasting solutions to the country’s economic challenges.
He urged Nigerians to exercise patience and cooperate with the government, emphasizing that Nigeria will overcome its economic challenges under President Tinubu’s leadership.
Obasa highlighted the improvement in the exchange rate, noting that the dollar has stabilized around N1270 compared to previous rates.
He expressed optimism that with continued efforts, the exchange rate could further improve to N500. He called on Nigerians to contribute their quota towards moving the country forward.
The program also featured remarks from Odunbaku, a Lagos APC leader who emphasized the need to celebrate President Tinubu’s achievements and pray for his long life and wisdom.
On his part, Islamic cleric Dr Hammed Olanrewaju commended President Tinubu’s efforts in addressing the country’s challenges, describing him as a builder of men and a leader who listens to the masses.
Meanwhile, President Tinubu has affirmed his administration’s commitment to bolstering investments in digital technology to support small businesses, foster economic growth, and position Nigeria as a leading force in information and communications technology across Africa.
He made the commitment during a meeting with a delegation from Meta Platforms Incorporated, led by Sir Nick Clegg, Meta’s President of Global Affairs, at the State House in Abuja recently.
