The national team of Benin Republic nicknamed the ‘Squirrels’, will host the Super Eagles of Nigeria on the neutral ground after their home stadiums were declared substandard by FIFA.
Following the declaration by the international football governing body, Benin’s match against Nigeria on June 4, 2024, which was originally slated for June 5, 2026, FIFA World Cup qualification, will now take place at the Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium in Abidjan, Ivory Coast.
The Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium in Ivory Coast is familiar to the Super Eagles, having hosted three games there during the last 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
