Zenith Labour Party’s gubernatorial candidate, Bishop Akhalamhe, has officially selected Joyce Idubor as his running mate for the upcoming September 21 election.
The announcement took place on Tuesday at the party secretariat in Benin, where Mr. Akhalamhe introduced Ms. Idubor, a pastor and educationist, as his chosen deputy.
During the event, Mr Akhalamhe emphasized the inclusivity of the decision, stating that party members agreed with the selection.
He highlighted the party’s commitment to gender sensitivity, expressing that the nomination of Ms. Idubor aligns with this principle.
“I have chosen Dr. Joyce Olamilayo Idubor as the female deputy gubernatorial candidate. Her inclusion will undoubtedly enhance our ticket and contribute positively to the party. I urge women within the party and across the state to rally behind us, fostering collaborative efforts for the development of our state,” Mr Akhalamhe remarked.
He concluded by asserting his belief that Edo will witness effective governance once the party assumes leadership in the state.
