Nollywood actor and politician Desmond Elliot has expressed his appreciation to the people and electorates of Surulere for re-electing him in the March 18 House of Assembly elections.
In a post via his Instagram page, Elliot said he is most grateful to the great youths of Surulere and to his political team that made his victory possible.

Elliot’s show of thanks came after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared him the winner of the Surulere Constituency election.
INEC Returning Officer O.J Fenuga made the announcement on Sunday, March 19.
He said Desmond Elliott of the All Progressives Congress, APC, polled 17,837 votes to defeat his closest rival Adebayo Bode of the Labour Party, LP, who polled 7,822 votes.
In another news, Nollywood actress Funke Akindele has deleted all posts relating to politics from her Instagram page.
After losing the just-concluded gubernatorial elections, the actress-turned-politician took down all political posts concerning herself and Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran, better known as Jandor.
Both politicians had contested under the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for governor and deputy governor positions in Lagos state, respectively.
