Burna Boy wins MTV award for Best Africa Act

Popular Nigerian singer, Burna Boy, has won the 2022 MTV Europe Music Awards for Best Africa Act.

The multiple award winner beat other nominees like Ayra Starr, Musa Keys, Tems, Zuchu and Black Sheriff to clinch the prize on Sunday, November 13, 2022.

Although the singer was not present at the ceremony to receive the award, he thanked the event organisers via his Twitter handle for honouring him.

He tweeted:

 “Thanks for the love @mtvema I’m super bummed I couldn’t be there. We go again!”

In another news, Burna Boy has proved he is one of the richest African musicians by purchasing three luxury cars at once.

The Grammy winner became the discussion in the media after displaying photos of  Lamborghini and Maybach on social media.

Burna Boy disclosed via his Instagram story that he got the cars as part of his preparations for the Detty December celebration.
