Stephenia Omeh, a famous entrepreneur from the southeast region of Nigeria, has advised her kinsmen to leave the country and invest in other countries.
Omeh gave the counsel in reaction to many anti-Igbo sentiments on social media in the last few weeks.
She noted that the best response to such negative narratives is for the Igbos to succeed in their endeavours, especially outside Nigeria.
She further stated that if the Igbos capture economic power, they will be unstoppable in the scheme of things in Nigeria.
“Go out there and make lots of wealth. With time, no one can stop us anywhere in the world not even our haters at home.
“Go out there and prosper. Every Igbo should strive to become a billionaire. Success is the best revenge,” she wrote on her Twitter page.
She also called on Igbo businessmen to invest heavily in media ownership in the country.
According to her, the media narrative is skewed against the southeast, and the people of the region need to fight such oppression.
“It’s high time Igbos acquire media – it’s enough for other people to be telling our story. We must have a media that is owned by an Igbo man or woman.
“I am tired of Sahara Reporters and fake news Punch newspaper
talking bullshit about my people. We are going to control our own narrative,” she stated.
