The President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau, has backed the Super Falcons of Nigeria to do well at the forthcoming Paris 2024 Olympics.
Gusua, who backed the team to make hay in a chat with CompleteSports said that the girls have shown resilience and determination to qualify for the Olympics against all odds.
He further stated that after the performance of the Super Falcons at the World Cup in Australia and New Zealand, he knows that none of the teams in our group will take us for granted.
“We shall try to improve our World Cup performance, where we crashed out without losing a single game during regulation time,” Gusau told CompleteSports in Abuja.
“The girls have shown resilience and determination to qualify for the Olympics against all odds and I trust them to carry that same spirit to the Games in Paris.

“The teams in our group are among the best in women’s football in the world, but I can tell you that we can only respect them and will not be afraid to play any of them. After a performance at the World Cup in Australia/New Zealand, I know none of the teams in our group will take us for granted.”
Gusau’s comments come after two friendly matches were scheduled for the Super Falcons by the NFF as part of their training for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
This was revealed by a source at the federation, who revealed that the NFF has agreed that the Falcons play two friendly games during the FIFA women’s window from May 27 to June 4.
The source, however, revealed that NFF has not yet revealed the two countries that the Falcons will face, but the team’s backroom staff have been notified to start preparing for a camp in Europe next month.
