Tragedy as Nollywood actress Funke Akindele loses her mother

Popular Nollywood actress Funke Akindele is currently in a state of mourning following the death of her mother, Dr RB Adebanjo-Akindele.

A statement released by Olubunmi Akindele on behalf of the family disclosed that the actress’ mum passed on Tuesday, February 7, 2023.

The announcement read:

“It is with heavy hearts, but in total submission to God Almighty that the Adebanjo And Akindele families announce the passing of their daughter, mother, grandmother and sister, DR. R B Adebanjo-Akindele, which occurred on Tuesday 07 February 2023.”

The family said the funeral arrangement for the late Adebanjo-Akindele would be announced soon.

In another news, celebrity auto dealer Ikechukwu Daryl Ogbonna, popularly known as IVD, was remanded on Tuesday, January 31, by Ebute Meta Magistrates’ over the death of his wife, Abimbola Martins-Ogbonna.

Magistrate Adebayo Kafayat Tella made the remand order following advice by the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP), Lagos State, which indicted Ogbonna for involuntary manslaughter.

She stated that her court lacked the jurisdiction to entertain a case of involuntary manslaughter.
