Two clubs have inquired about the services of Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali, who put up a brilliant performance at the just concluded African Cup of Nations staged in Cote d’Ivoire.
The two clubs lining up to sign the gifted Chippa United of South Africa goalkeeper are English Championship club Queens Park Rangers and Saudi club side, Al Ettifaq.
This was made known in a post shared by Italian journalist and transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, who disclosed that the English and Saudi Arabian sides inquired about Nwabali.
“Nigeria GK Stanley Nwabali, on the list of different clubs as Al Ettifaq in Saudi Arabia and Queens Park Rangers in the UK, have inquired about him,” Romano wrote on his X page.
At the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations staged in Ivory Coast, the 27-year-old goalkeeper delivered a standout performance and helped Nigeria advance to the final of the tournament.
Nwabali kept four consecutive clean sheets after making his competitive debut for the Eagles against the senior national team of Equatorial Guinea at the 2023 AFCON.
He also produced two saves in the semi-final victory over South Africa, which advanced Jose Peseiro’s team to the final, where they were defeated 2-1 by Côte d’Ivoire.
