Why I should be paid for being a celebrity” – Singer Speed Darlington declares
SHARE

Controversial Nigerian singer Darlington Okoye, popularly known as Speed Darlington, has said that he deserves to be paid for being a celebrity.

The United States-based singer said this during his appearance on the latest episode of media personality Nedu’s Honest Bunch podcast.

Speed Darlington said people for what they love; hence, his fans and admirers should pay him.

The rapper stressed that people are willing to pay for what they love by using the analogy of a meat pie to convey his point when Nedu questioned him about why he thinks he deserves payment.

He was contradicted by the host, who said that the rapper would not have been famous without the love and support of his fans.

Speed Darlington dismissed the position of Nedu, questioning, “What generates that love? Why don’t people hug a madman on the street?

Speed Darlington was born in Arondizuogu, Ideato North local government area, Imo state, Nigeria.

His music videos have caused him to become extremely popular on social media multiple times.

The singer was raised in Okigwe by his family before relocating to the US, where he has made a name for himself.

Darlington has consistently been in the headlines for one reason or another. From calling himself titles like “energy god,” “Scorpio king,” and “Irregular speedometer,” to identifying himself with statements like “I am not regular” and “Inspiring Diddy since 2017.”
