According to the Nigerian Tribune, the ex-chairman of the national human rights commission (NHRC) claimed that President Buhari’s speeches during campaign rallies does not seem to be in support of Tinubu.
Prof Odinkalu made it clear that Buhari could be campaigning for another candidate and not the APC standard bearer after saying the people should not vote for a fraudulent individual.
He said: “The president is campaigning with Tinubu and telling the people ‘don’t vote for a fraudulent person.”
“The question for me is: does Tinubu want to continue presenting the president for him to keep saying the kind of things he is saying at the rallies, things that cut both ways and impossibly actually don’t reflect quite well on his candidate, it seems to me.
Meanwhile, the Punch had reported that APC presidential candidate Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu had a strategic meeting with party members vying for governorship and House of Assembly positions on Sunday January 15, 2023, in Abuja.
The former Lagos state governor emphasized on the need to work together as a team to enable candidates win elections under the party’s flag.
