Popular Nollywood actor Lateef Adedimeji has disclosed that he was paid as low as N5,000 for a lead role in the past.
Adedimeji made the disclosure in an Instagram post when recounting his days of humble beginnings.
He said that after he graduated from university, he used to borrow money and clothes to go on a movie set.

The actor recalled that people used to ridicule him by saying acting was not his career path and that he would never make it in that field.
He said he almost gave up on his career. Adedimeji stated that there were times he would cry endlessly because of the challenges he faced.
Adedimeji recalled that things finally started picking up for him when he was getting paid N1000, N2000 and N5000 for a lead role.
The actor said his journey to stardom came with some challenges, but he said he is grateful to God for his journey so far.

Meanwhile, Nigerian actor, Yul Edochie, has demanded respect from his fans, who are far younger than him.
He made the demand when he flaunted pictures of his 18-year-old daughter on social media to show how far he has come in life.
Yul said anyone who does not yet have an 18-year-old and in the university should refer to him as Sir Yul Edochie.
He stated that he and such people are not mates.
