The suspended Adamawa state’s Resident Electoral Commissioner, Hudu Yunusa Ari has disappeared in thin air after being declared wanted.
Yunusa Ari illegally declared Aisha Binani of the All Progressives Congress the winner of the governorship election in Adamawa state while collation was still ongoing.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) national commissioner Festus Okoye revealed that Yunusa Ari is nowhere to be found after President Muhammadu Buhari called for his arrest and prosecution.

Okoye said on Channels Television that he called Yunusa Ari on phone but he has not responded and he is unaware of his whereabouts.
Okoye’s words: “We don’t know where he is because, after this particular incident, the Commission wrote him and also called him on the phone. He never returned any of the calls, he never answered any of the calls.
“We asked him to report to the Commission on Sunday we didn’t see him, we asked him to report on Monday we didn’t see him. So up till this moment, he has not reported and we don’t know his whereabouts.”
“Well, that is the responsibility of the Nigerian police. If they feel that his presence is absolutely needed during the investigation and he is nowhere to be found, it is their prerogative and discretion to declare him wanted.”
Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Buhari recently approved the suspension of Yunusa Ari for wrongfully declaring Aisha Binani winner of the Adamawa state governorship election.
The Adamawa state gubernatorial election was ongoing before Yunusa Ari announced the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate as winner of the supplementary election.
