Nigerian actor Joey Okechukwu has attracted criticism from Nigerians for alleging that the death of Ifeanyi, Davido’s son, was ritual-related.
The actor, turned Youtuber, had made an unfounded claim that the boy’s death bears all the hallmarks of a ritual sacrifice.

“If you look at the story surrounding the death of Ifeanyi, it bears all the trappings of typical ritual sacrifice situation from everything I have researched in my life about ritual sacrifices for fame in Hollywood and in the entertainment industry,” he said.
Okechukwu questioned how Davido’s domestic staff did not notice when Ifeanyi snuck out of the house without anyone noticing.

However, his outlandish claims were met with backlash from Nigerians, who accused him of exploiting the tragedy for fame. Some concerned social media users even questioned the actor’s sanity for making such a statement.
Ogesignature.beautylounge said: “I just wish davido will come n arrest all dis pple dat hv been chasing clout with d poor boy’s name. D parents cant even heal in peace with d way he is all over d internet.”
The same view was shared by another handle Elliesignature_, who said:
“I just hope they can actually arrest these people and sue their asses up, I don’t even get it, how can a grown man not only harbour these stupid thoughts but open mouth waaa and say thrash…goshhh.”
