The Minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mr Nyesom Wike has expressed that he will be politically not important without his base.
Wike said the moment he loses his roots, then he loses his relevance in politics.
The Ex–Rivers governor said no amount of false allegations against him can make him lose sleep.
While receiving the South–South heads in his office on Tuesday in Abuja, he stated that the right things to be done must be done.
He said that politicians desire to be politically relevant while maintaining their political structure.
”Is it not your structure in politics? No one will allow you to cut him out politically. Everyone belongs to a base, if you remove me from my base, have I not become politically irrelevant?”
It is widely believed that Wike’s relationship with the Rivers State Governor Sim Fubara has deteriorated, leading some Rivers State House of Assembly lawmakers to move against Fubara.
The lawmakers who moved against Fubara are reportedly loyalists of Wike.
