Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has fulfilled his promise to reward Miss Aminat Imoitesemeh Yusuf with N10 million prize.
From Edo state, Miss Yusuf emerged as the best-graduating student for the 2021/2022 academic session with a perfect 5.00 Cumulative Grade.
At the graduation ceremony of the state-owned institution weeks ago, Governor Sanwo-Olu promised to reward her for her hard work and achievement.
The governor has fulfilled his promise by inviting Miss Yusuf to the Government House and giving her the money.
Governor Sanwo-Olu also noted that the quality of education in Lagos state contributed to the achievement of Miss Yusuf.
He encouraged her to use her voice to promote initiatives tailored towards creating opportunities for younger ones to thrive in their communities.
His words:
“Her 5.0 CGPA in Law at just 23 years old is a testament to her hard work and Lagos State’s quality education.
“I encouraged Aminat to use her voice as a champion for vulnerable communities and to promote initiatives tailored to their needs. Together, we can create opportunities for those who need it most.”
The governor also met with the parents of Miss Yusuf and commended them for raising a brilliant daughter.
“We discussed her background and the crucial role her disciplined parents played in her personal development. They instilled the value of aiming high and provided everything they needed,” he said.
Meanwhile, Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo has offered Miss Yusuf automatic employment in the state’s public service.
“We are proposing to write to the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) so that she will serve with us here in Edo State after her law school program so that we don’t run the risk of losing her,” Governor Obaseki said after speaking to the student’s parents via a phone.
