Nigeria’s Ifeoma Amuche has emerged as the Best Graduating Student at South West University in Chongqing, China.
Out of 9,500 international students, she was selected to deliver a speech for all graduates, which she did eloquently in Mandarin.
Amuche, from Oko in Anambra state, studied Chinese Language and Literature at the institution.
She was a former student of the Federal Polytechnic in her hometown before her foray into Chinese education.
Her heroics have sparked excitement among Nigerians on social media, including the Labour Party presidential candidate in the 2023 general elections, Mr Peter Obi.
”I congratulate Miss Ifeoma Amuche, a Nigerian student who recently emerged as the Best Graduating Student at South West University, China.
”It takes immeasurable hard work and dedication to achieve such an academic feat and stand out from the crowd,” Obi, a former governor of Anambra state, wrote on his Twitter page.
The National Orientation Agency also congratulated Amuche, noting that:
Nigerians bear the mark of success anywhere! We are Nigerians, and we are Champions.
We are rebuilding our great country and building a strong citizen-patriotic driven Nation where every citizen of our country will stand tall anywhere with pride as a Nigerian!
We are building a strong Nigeria Nation that works for all!!!

”Ifeoma Amuche emerging as the Best Graduating Student at University in China is insane! This is a place you can score 95% throughout and still not among the top 50.
”To think that she majored in Mandarin and Chinese Literature makes it super incredible.”
